In the hustle and bustle of modern life, one of my favorite ways to show my husband love is to pack his weekly lunchbox.
Food has always been my love language, so I’ve been packing my husband’s weekly lunchbox for five years. It is my simple gesture to put together a week’s worth of delicious and nutritious meals so my husband has something to look forward to every day at his job.
He recently started his new job where he no longer works from home, so I am now back to packing my husband’s weekly lunchbox. I thought I’d bring you along with me if you are also looking for weekly lunchbox ideas, whether it is for your loved ones or yourself.

I filmed a YouTube video packing my husband’s weekly lunchbox so you can pack with me.
I don’t know about you, but I love cooking while watching other people cook. Let me know if you enjoy these types of longer form video to go alongside the blog post, and I can definitely make this a monthly series where we pack my husband’s weekly lunchbox together!
In this blog post I will be going over my husband’s weekly lunchbox and share detailed recipes.

MONDAY: HONEY GARLIC CHICKEN
20 minutes Honey Garlic Chicken has been one of my go-to recipes when it comes to my husband’s weeky lunchbox! Crispy, juicy, and packed with so much flavor! Not only is honey garlic chicken easy to make, but it also only requires simple-to-find ingredients!
If you like it spicy, try adding a little bit of Korean red chili paste to give it an extra kick!
For the broccoli, after I removed the chicken, I added in the raw broccoli and ¼ cup of water. Turn the heat to medium-high and let it steam for 5 minutes or until soft and that’s it! The broccoli soaks up all the oil and sauce from the chicken!
Ingredients
- 4 pieces chicken thigh, boneless skin-on
- Salt and pepper
- ¼ cup cornstarch
Honey Garlic Glaze
- 10 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp of Butter
- 3.5 tbsp of Honey
- 2.5 tbsp of Soy Sauce

TUESDAY: BEEF GYDUON (JAPANESE BEEF RICE BOWL)
Next up my husband’s weekly lunchbox, we got Gyduon. Gyudon, which translates to “beef bowl,” is a beloved Japanese dish that originated in the late 19th century. It consists of thinly sliced beef cooked in a sweet and savory sauce, served on a bed of steaming white rice.
Often crowned with a perfectly poached egg, it’s a harmonious combination that satisfies both the soul and the palate. I love making Gyduon because it is easy to make, takes less than 20 minutes, and is all done in one pot! Gyudon is honestly the perfect recipe for any beginner cook!
Ingredients
- 1 pack of Hotpot Beef meat ~ 1 pound
- 2 whole Onion sliced
- 1/4 cup of Soy Sauce
- 1/4 cup of Mirin
- 2 tbsp of Sugar
- 2 cups of Dashi Stock/Beef stock
- Green onion, to garnish

WEDNESDAY: CREAMY MUSHROOM UDON AND CHICKEN BITES
If you are a mushroom lover like me and my husband, this is the dish for you! EXTRA Creamy Mushroom Udon is one of my first viral recipes that takes less than 20 minutes to make. A Japanese-inspired fusion recipe that I’ve been making since university is easy and super delicious.
Creamy Mushroom Udon is Vegetarian-friendly and affordable, perfect for busy and always on the go! My husband always gets super excited when he sees this deliciously creamy recipe in his lunchbox!
I paired the creamy udon with crispy fried chicken; however, that recipe is still in the testing stage, and I will make sure to update the blog once I have an official recipe. In the meantime, check out my chicken kaarage recipe, which is also super delicious and easy to make!

- 8 Shiitake Mushroom (sliced)

THURSDAY: STICKY PORK BELLY AND CRISPY GARLIC GREEN BEANS
If there is one dish that everyone will love, it is Sticky Pork Belly. Tender, savory, and packed with flavor, sticky pork belly is my favorite childhood recipe, and it will soon be yours too! If you want to save time, you can also check out my Instant Pot Braised Pork Belly, which is super delicious and quick to make at home.
I paired the sticky pork belly with Din Tai Fung-inspired Stir-Fried Garlic Green Beans. All you need is THREE ingredients only to make Chinese Restaurant Style Stir-Fried Garlic Green Beans at home.
Easy, quick, and insanely delicious Chinese Style Stir-Fried Garlic Green Beans are one of my favorite sides that goes amazing with everything! It takes less than 15 minutes to make; all you need is garlic, green beans or string beans, and salt.

Pork Belly
Green Beans Ingredients
